Stew’s Curry Club

Curry Club started like any other, we left work in search of sustenance and refreshment, as this month was my turn to provide both we went to my local curry house the Saqui Tandoori but first stopped for light refreshment at the local drinking hole The Hand and Flower which provides an excellent selection of alcoholic beverages at some very reasonable prices.

As we went into the restaurant we were greeted politely and seated promptly, after deciding on what we would like to drink with our meal (beer mainly) we went for some customary poppadoms with the usual condiments.

Some of us chose to have starters, I personally always like a good onion bhaji and shared one with Casey and Lou, we also had a mixed meat kebab which was also amazing.

Now for the mains, I have been attempting to have the same dish at each curry club so I can compare between curry houses, evidently I had a lamb Buhna with a garlic nan bread this was exquisite as ever from my local, if I’m honest I think it was just as good as some of the other curries I have had from other months curry clubs but don’t tell anyone. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their choices as well and all in all it was a very good meal.

We ended the evening with some more drinks in the hand and flower, the only drawback to the evening was the fact that the taxi did not show up but luckily you can always rely on a black cab to save the day which got everyone back home safely or at least to the closest train station.

All in all it was I night I enjoyed and at a reasonable price which I hope the other curry club attendees will concur with.
